Instance admin
The page where you run your Qwest server.
Instance admins run the server. The first account made on a new server is one. Open it from the menu under your name (Instance admin), or go to /admin on your Qwest address.

| Backups | Schedule, off-site copy and downloads. |
| Accounts | Everyone with an account, their workspaces, and who else is an instance admin. |
| Workspaces | Every workspace, the storage it uses, and its own storage limit. |
Who can join
Section titled “Who can join”In Access:
| Setting | Studio (default) | Open to anyone |
|---|---|---|
| Who can make an account | Only people with an invite link | Anyone |
| Who can make workspaces | Instance admins | Everyone |
| Personal workspace for every new account | Off | On |
Most studios keep the defaults: people join through invite links only.
Add another instance admin
Section titled “Add another instance admin”In Accounts, change their Instance role to admin. Have at least two, so one can step in when the other is away.
Storage limits
Section titled “Storage limits”Limits count uploads only (not docs or tasks). Set one for every workspace in Access, or one per workspace in Workspaces. When a workspace reaches its limit, uploads stop until files are deleted or the limit is raised.
