Boards and tasks
Plan work on boards with subtasks, points, dates, milestones and Deck mode.
Boards hold lists of cards (tasks) that you drag along as work moves.
Make a board
Section titled “Make a board”- + New›Board.
- Start blank, or from Kanban, Sprint or Bug tracker.
Add and move tasks
Section titled “Add and move tasks”- Click Add a card at the bottom of a list, type a title, press Enter.
- Drag cards between lists. Drag lists to reorder them.
- Click a card to open it: description, assignees, labels, dates, points, milestone, attachments and comments.
- Mark a card complete with its checkbox.
Switch the View between Board, List and Deck. Filter by member, label, role, due date or completion.
Subtasks
Section titled “Subtasks”Every task can have subtasks, as deep as you need.
- In a card, under Subtasks, type and press Enter.
- Double-click a card (or ShiftEnter) to open its subtasks as a full board. Alt↑ goes back up.
A task with subtasks is worth the sum of their points, and completing it completes them.
Milestones
Section titled “Milestones”Milestones group work toward a date (a demo, a festival, launch) and show on the Home roadmap and the calendar.
- Project settings›Milestones›New milestone, with a name and a target date.
- Pick it in a task’s (or a whole board’s) Milestone field.
Deck mode
Section titled “Deck mode”Deck mode deals out work like cards, so nobody takes on more than they can do in a week.
- Everyone sets their roles and action points per week in their profile.
- Give tasks points and the roles they need.
- Switch the board’s view to Deck.
- Draw at random (it leans toward overdue work and your roles) or Browse and pick. Cards go into your hand up to your weekly budget.
- At the start of each week, review your hand: keep unfinished cards or put them back to the pile.
The table shows everyone’s hand, and History shows points played against budget each week.
Link code to a task
Section titled “Link code to a task”In a card, Link a submission: paste a pull request, commit or changelist URL. You can mark the task complete at the same time.
