Seats and renewal
Who uses a seat, what happens when updates end, and how to renew.
Who uses a seat
Section titled “Who uses a seat”Anyone who’s an owner, admin or member of a workspace uses a seat. Guests are free: use them for contractors, publishers and playtesters.
See how many are used in Instance admin›License.
When all seats are taken
Section titled “When all seats are taken”Nobody already in is ever locked out. But Qwest refuses what would need another seat: new invites as owner, admin or member, raising a guest’s role, and new workspaces. Guests can still be invited.
To get more: on Indie, there’s no limit. On Studio, buy seats by writing to hello@qwest.dev, then click Refresh license in Instance admin›License.
When your year of updates ends
Section titled “When your year of updates ends”Your license never stops working. You keep the last version it covers, forever.
- Instance admins see when updates end, on Instance admin›License.
- Versions released after that date aren’t covered. If one is installed anyway, it keeps working, but Qwest asks you to renew or go back to a covered version.
Indie renewals cost less when made within a year of updates ending, and count from the old end date. See the pricing page.
- Renew from the link in Instance admin›License, or write to hello@qwest.dev.
- Click Refresh license on that page.
- Update Qwest to the newest version.
